I have worked as a youth support worker since 2022 and I love it. I find spending time with young people rewarding and fun! I enjoy art and craft, and I love using it to engage with young people. I’m always telling young people that it doesn’t matter about their skill level. Art is subjective – so it’s sensed and experienced differently by individuals, so there’s no right or wrong way of looking at it. I’m keen on encouraging young people to have a go at arts and crafts, mainly because it’s a calming, stress-reducing activity, and that’s something many of us need in our lives these days! It’s also a great platform for learning new skills and techniques and engaging with peers.
