Courtney

I am a professional youth worker who joined the SNaP Youth team recently. I am committed to supporting young people to form healthy peer relationships and maturing as individuals. This passion drove me to pursue a JNC certification, which I obtained in 2023 by completing a degree in Youth Work and Community Development at Derby University. Through hospital-based project facilitation, I have extensive experience assisting young people in gaining the confidence and knowledge to self-manage their long-term health conditions. During my year one placement, I assisted students with special educational requirements within an alternative provision. However, I have only recently begun my career at SNaP, where I hope to develop my youth work skills by delivering street-based programmes that are independent of one another. My favourite aspect of being a youth worker is empowering young people to realise their maximum potential ensuring they use their voices and are heard to drive change. Providing them with new opportunities to increase their knowledge, skills, and confidence.
