Mentoring
Mentoring sessions are available on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday between3.30pm and 5pm. An appointment is required in advance. To book, simply call 01773510882 or email info@snapdp.org.uk
A mentor isn’t a teacher, a parent or a social worker, they’re trained adults you can talk to. They’ll listen, they won’t judge, and they won’t get annoyed. If you have serious issues, they may share them with someone who can help you and your family. Otherwise, everything you say is just between the two of you.
Your mentor can help you find things that you are good at, they can also arrange activities and new stuff for you to try like sports, drama, cooking or going places that you have not been before. You might have a particular goal, like coping better with feelings or looking at college options. Your mentor can help and will celebrate with you when you succeed.
The SNAP Youth mentoring service provides one to one support for young people aged 10+. Youth mentoring is a purposeful relationship between a young person and a professional youth worker. It involves the exchange of support, advice, encouragement and skills development.
The SNAP Youth Workers are available to chat and help you work through issues that matter to you. Issues may include education, employment, relationships, crime, health, alcohol and drug use.
