Stephen Potter

My name is Stephen Potter and I have been a board member since 2015. I first came to know the work of SNaP Youth whilst serving in South Normanton as the Rector from St Michaels church.

I have for many years been interested in the young people from our community and we have run a number of different initiatives for young people through the church. My passion is to see people reach towards their potential.

Having lived in South Normanton for more than 20 years I have seen a lot of young people growing through their early years to young adults and it excites me to see the way they have developed.

Some of the highlights of my work with young people have been on weekends spent in the Peak District at Edale where we have enjoyed the space and time together exploring both the hills and one another’s interests.

I am married to Jane and we have 4 children, all of whom have grown and left home and now live around the country.

In recent years I have rediscovered a love for swimming and I am pleased to have recently returned to the pool most days aiming to swim about 1 mile a day.
